Leather Storage Cube and Ottoman Buying Guide
Do you have a problem with clutter? Well the storage ottoman is your solution! It is a wide known concept that as our clutter
increases, our productivity decreases. In order to increase our
productivity we must be rid of clutter. Having too much clutter can make
one lack motivation, as well as even cause mood disturbances. Our
surroundings affect us in many ways, our emotions being one of them.
Dimensions
There are no standard dimensions for ottoman furniture, however the
average height is around 16" high. This is valuable information if you
have limited space. Measure the area to make sure you choose the proper
leather ottoman size and style for your room. Refer to product pages for
further dimensions. If you have boxes handy it may give you a good idea
what size to buy.
Color
Leather ottomans come in a variety of colors including black, dark
brown, brown, light brown, beige and tan. If you're filling in a large
space, choose a black or dark brown leather ottoman as a stand-out
piece. If you're putting the finishing touches on a small room, consider
a beige or tan leather cocktail ottoman. Especially in the case of
leather, the right upholstery color will positively affect the
proportions in your living room. Don't purchase a storage ottoman that's
light colored if you plan to use it for a foot rest. Light-colored
fabrics and materials show wear and dirt more easily than dark ones.
Multi-Function
A storage ottoman is a very versatile piece of furniture that has multiple purposes. If you have a storage ottoman or are thinking of purchasing one, here's some ways you can use it:
1.Sit on a storage ottoman. Place it in your living room or den to
provide extra seating for guests. Even if you don't have guests over,
storage ottomans can be a great place to sit down. If your storage
ottoman is tufted or padded and over-sized, it's even better.
2.Rest your feet on a storage ottoman in front of a sofa or a chair. It's almost as comfortable as sitting in a recliner.
3.Put blankets, pillows, bed linens, books, magazines, compact discs
and children's toys in your ottoman to eliminate clutter and enhance
the orderly appearance of your home.
4.Turn your storage ottoman into a coffee table. Just put one in
front of a sofa and you can place items such as beverages, snacks and
remote controls on it just like you would use a coffee table. Some
storage ottomans even have a top that flips up to use as a tray, or you
can put a tray on top of a storage ottoman for added stability.
5.Put a storage ottoman in your child's bedroom. Since children's
bedrooms are usually on the small side, this versatile piece of
furniture is handy for toys, stuffed animals, books, clothing or bed
linens. The ottoman can also be used for seating when friends come over
or for your own child when she is reading a book or just hanging out.
6.Storage ottomans are great for families with small children since
they're usually padded and soft, worry about children running into or
bumping a hard coffee table can almost be eliminated if you use a
storage ottoman instead.
7. On-campus living accommodations are traditionally quite small.
Students can expect little more than a single bed, desk & chair,
minimal closet space, and drawer space. Storage cubes are a great way to
add more storage space in dorm rooms.
8.Storage ottomans are useful in office waiting rooms for storing
kids toys and magazines as well as extra seating while waiting for the
doctor, dentist, etc.
Leather Types
Faux leather is essentially fake leather.
Instead of being made of animal skins, these fabrics are made of other
materials and may receive numerous treatments so that they replicate the
look of leather and some of its common attributes. There are many names
under which faux leather may be sold, and these include leatherette, pleather and naugahyde.
There are many reasons to buy faux leather furniture. It's cheaper and animal friendly. And, there are many reason not to buy faux leather furniture. Real leather ages well and looks more expensive (because it is).
Bonded leather is one of the newest on the market. It's created when leather scraps and fibers are mixed
together, and then formed into a roll using adhesives or other bonding
materials. There is some controversy among furniture experts concerning whether
bonded leather is considered leather, since it usually contains only 10
to 17 percent leather fibers.
Bicast leather (also known as bycast leather, split leather or PU. leather)
is a split leather with a layer of polyurethane applied to the surface
and then embossed. Bicast leather is not 100% leather. It is not even
leather, but a leather by-product.
We advise people who want to purchase leather furniture to insist on
getting information about warranty details and the type of materials
used in its construction before they purchase.
Top
grain is the definition that is generally used when the grain is
not genuine: when the real grain is sanded away and an imitation grain
is stamped into the leather. These leathers are the most-desirable,
best-looking and most expensive. As compared to other leather types, top
grain leathers are stronger, wear better over time, and have a richer
color.
Full grain leather is the best leather money can buy. It comes from the top layer of the
hide which has all of the grain, therefore, full grain. The natural
surface of full grain leather burnishes and beautifies with use.
